The Session Boarder Controller (SBC)

Microsoft Teams requires a certified SBC to act as bridge between Teams and the telephone network. The session border controller provides multiple functions, including security, interoperability, legacy connectivity, migration, resiliency and failover.

The SBC can integrate with the current PBX or directly with the telecom provider, the SBC can be a hardware component or as a virtual appliance hosted in the datacenter or in the cloud.
